At the State Science and Technology Progress Awarding conference held in Great Hall of People in capital Beijing on January 9, the project “Efficient SCR technology R&D and industrialization of exhaust pollution control of heavy duty diesel vehicles” involved by Sinotruk received the second award of the State Science and Technology Progress Award. It is reported that this is the top award of scientific technology that Sinotruk has won since its restructuring program.

Sinotruk has undertaken a series of important works in this project, including scale expanding production of vanadium catalyst-urea SCR system and its supporting equipment, coating process development of non-vanadium catalyst, study and adjustment on emission characteristics of diesel engine, study on match and integration of SCR post-processing system, demonstration operation and durability evaluation, etc.

This project is a successful example of the combination of production, learning and research. The successfully putting into operation of SCR project not only enormously increases market competitiveness of Sinotruk’s vehicles, but also break up the industrial monopoly by international enterprises, thus bring for the entire nation a confidence in the post-processing industry of heavy duty vehicles.
